We are currently looking to fill a Social Worker/Counselor role at our Midway Center DV Program.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of post-graduate social work/counseling experience and at an intermediate skill level, preferred.
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
  • Must have a 40 hour Domestic Violence Certification, preferred.
  • Requires mobility to work in the community with assigned caseload.
  • Ability to maintain assigned  office-based services.
  • Demonstrated superior skills with therapeutic interventions with adults and children survivors of abuse
  • Demonstrated competence in consultation, teaching, or writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive, in-depth assessments for a variety of program services. Performs intake as assigned.
  • Provides a full range of case management, counseling, advocacy educational and related services.
  • Provides group services as indicated by program need.
  • Completes safety planning and linkages to supportive services.
  • Identifies and utilizes agency and community resources
  • Assesses and analyzes community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems.
  • May carry appointments to program and agency-wide committees, often in leadership roles.
  • Meets agency expectation for quantity of direct service.
  • Complies with agency recordkeeping expectations.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Maximizes opportunities within specialty/service areas to expand own knowledge and skills, and to experiment with new techniques and practice.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
