Requirements

  • Registered Dental Assistant that is authorized to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Must maintain BLS /CPR certification.
  • At least three (3) years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experienced in electronic records.
  • Sterile Technique.
  • Knowledge of dental materials.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Welcome, seat, and drape patients for dental treatment.
  • Review and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Provide information to patients and staff by answering questions and requests.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment areas, position instruments for dentist's access, suction, and pass instruments.
  • Expose and develop radiographic images, pour, trim, and polish study casts.
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations, clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
  • Apply topical fluoride to teeth.
  • Document dental services by charting findings, diagnosis, treatment plan, and completed care.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Monitor communications specific to clinic sites and patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe, clean working environment.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program and other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to other clinic locations as needed to maintain functionality.
