About The Position

Responsible for providing entry-level day-to-day administrative and business support to Landfill Department and carrying out administrative responsibilities as established through departmental needs. The hours of operation at the Landfill Scale house are Monday through Friday 7:00AM – 5:30PM and Saturday 7:00AM – 3:00PM. Staff is rotated to work on some Saturdays. Salary: $15.54- $19.25/depending on qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Process customer transactions utilizing specialized scale software. Accurately recording weights of incoming waste and monitoring incoming loads for unauthorized waste. Conducts charge, check and cash customer transactions. Inspects conditions in scale house and surrounding area for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. Provide entry level day-to-day administrative and business support. Respond to basic citizen inquiries through answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication and direct calls and inquiries to appropriate personnel. Ensures customer compliance with facility rules and notifies supervisors of violations as necessary. Prepare and maintain office files, including office filing Collect and organize data to generate reports, presentations, and assist with research and projects. Maintain department accounting records including invoices, expenses and office supply orders. May send, receive and distribute documents, including faxes and correspondence to appropriate department personnel and customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Up to 1-year related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Bilingual
