About The Position

El Futuro is currently hiring a full-time Bilingual Community Mental Health Program and Operations Coordinator to support the operations of the Mentes Fuertes (Strong Minds, Strong Communities) Program, which provides vital mental health support to the Latino community across multiple counties in North Carolina through the expertise of trained Community Mental Health Workers (CMHWs). The ideal candidate has strong organizational and coordination skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. This position works a regular schedule of 37.5 hours per week; 3 days in-person, 2 days remote with the possibility of travel one time per week to program sites in Durham, Wake, Orange and Chatham County; Schedule includes flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Must be available for Friday morning meetings 9:00-11:00am (mostly virtual). The annual salary for this position starts at $48,000.00, based on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related field; OR equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in community-based or mental health programs.
  • Experience coordinating programs or logistics.
  • Experience in relationship building with diverse stakeholders and community organizations.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and assign participants to Community Mental Health Workers (CMHWs).
  • Provide daily coverage for the Walk-In Clinic (WIC), ensuring smooth flow of participants and support for program staff.
  • Conduct screener calls with participants and document results in a timely manner.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for program activities (e.g., preparing materials, coordinating technology, ensuring manuals are printed).
  • Support trainings and meetings by managing logistics and technology needs.
  • Help track program deliverables and timelines to ensure goals are met.
  • Collaborate with the Mentes Fuertes Program Manager to address issues and adapt as needed.
