About The Position

Community Corrections is now hiring for a Bilingual Community Corrections Case Monitor! Candidates with bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged to apply. Community Corrections Case Monitors provide basic administrative case management support to certified Probation and Parole Officers. Duties include assisting in completing justice-involved individuals (JIIs) intakes by pre-screening and conducting basic initial interviews as JIIs are referred to the department for supervision or pre-sentence investigation; recording and updating basic social history information in database records; and processing routine transactions and requests for information. Community Corrections supervises approximately 3,000 Adults on Supervision (AOS) using a range of evidence-based strategies, while working in partnership with the courts, policing agencies, the State Board of Parole, and the Department of Corrections. The Probation and Parole division works to prevent recidivism of crime by providing client-centered community supervision and by connecting them to the resources they need to make long-term behavior change.

Requirements

  • Must pass a post-offer comprehensive background investigation.
  • Must acquire and maintain CPR and first aid certification.
  • Must pass a post-offer psychological assessment prior to appointment.
  • This position requires the ability to speak and write Spanish.
  • Must pass a post-offer oral and written Spanish language proficiency test.
  • The position requires routine contact with JIIs on probation, parole, or post-sentence supervision.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Services, or a related field can substitute for the required experience.
  • An Associate degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Services, or a related field AND one (1) year of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, or a related social services field.
  • OR Three (3) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, or counseling of adult justice involved individuals, or a related social services field.
