About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Hoyleton Youth and Family Services has a variety of Internship opportunities that will allow students to gain practical work experience in the area of social human services, including Counseling, Mental Health and Non-Profit Management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all requirements for their academic programs are met Serves a clinical intern providing assessment, individual/ group/ family therapy services and assists Spanish speaking clients in the development of functional skills Completes diagnostic assessments and develops the Integrated Assessment and Treatment Plan with the client, parent/guardian, and/or case workers. Follows all regulations when completing initial, reviews and/or updates for all required paperwork Provides crisis intervention services as needed Participates in clinical case staffing as needed. Schedules clinical case staffing to assure consistent communication with other professional staff involved with the client. Participate in weekly supervision with direct supervisor to explore areas of strength and growth. Completes all required clinical documentation in a timely manner based on Medicaid Rule 132 and Managed Care Organization requirements. Participates in Utilization Reviews of clinical files. Completes other duties as reasonably assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms of communication in both English and Spanish.
  • The ability to establish rapport with others to establish healthy therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to present oneself in an appropriately personable and professional manner to clients and staff.
  • Ability to receive and utilize constructive feedback regarding performance, presentation and relationships with others
  • Must possess the knowledge, personal qualities, and practice skills to work effectively with professionals in other organizations to provide services in a manner that reflects understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism.
  • Must meet DCFS/CANTS Clearance Requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain proof of automobile insurance.
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related human services field (Master’s-level preferred)
  • Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with clients and families served.
