Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is mandatory.
  • BLS/CPR certification is required to ensure patient safety during medical emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of up to one year in a similar role, such as Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Certified Nursing Assistant, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews to gather essential medical information.
  • Accurately measure and record vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Collect and prepare blood, tissue, or laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Administer injections, draw blood, and remove sutures when necessary.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are clean and sterilized.
  • Perform phone consultations to discuss test results and health concerns.
  • Process lab specimens with proper labeling and packaging.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked and perform inventory checks.
  • Participate in OSHA compliance and safety training programs.
  • Operate equipment safely according to Legacy policies.
  • Follow exposure control plans for pathogens.
  • Engage in educational programs for continuous growth.
  • Promote teamwork and collaborate to achieve departmental goals.
  • Implement the primary care medical home model with a focus on patient-centered care.
