About The Position

The position requires a proven track record of building relationships to develop lower-middle market relationships with corporations and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $5 million to $500 million. The role involves growing and retaining profitable relationships by focusing on delivering value-added solutions to clients and prospects, helping them reach their goals while maximizing revenues over the life of the relationship. The candidate should be a fully experienced, qualified relationship manager capable of independent activity, possessing proven client relationship skills, extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and strong transaction execution skills. Credit process management is a critical component, and performance will be measured by effectiveness in various marketing areas, including calling activity, proposal generation, revenue generation, risk mitigation, and the ability to build successful relationships. The role also includes seeking opportunities to cross-sell into every relationship and anticipating the future needs of clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, or another related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • Typically, a minimum of five years direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships.
  • Formally credit trained and/or underwriting knowledge and experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Houston commercial market is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the sales, loan processing, and closing processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Banking products and services including working knowledge of C & I as well as Owner-Occupied and Investment Commercial Real Estate loans.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit commercial clients; aggressively seeks and obtains quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling efforts.
  • Obtain and maintain Centers of Influence (COIs) and attend various networking events in the assigned geographic area.
  • Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans.
  • Close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range.
  • Contribute to deposit growth by cross-selling and promoting additional banking products.
  • Lead and manage team through training, developing, and coaching associates on a consistent basis.
  • Encourage others to set challenging goals and high standards of performance.
  • Inspire associates to define new opportunities and continuously improve the organization.
  • Celebrate and reward significant achievements of associates.
  • Assist team in addressing their individual strengths and development needs.
