About The Position

WEAVE’s mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships and support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. WEAVE’s vision is When Everyone Acts, Violence Ends. Under the direct supervision of the Counseling Services Manager, the Associate Therapist will provide crisis intervention, safety planning and therapeutic individual and group counseling services to children, youth and adults who have experienced or been exposed to domestic and sexual violence. Clinical supervision is provided by WEAVE. This position is a mandated reporter of known or suspected child or elder/dependent adult abuse under California law. We are seeking candidates interested in a part-time role.

Requirements

  • ASW, AMFT, or APCC with current BBS registration.
  • Professional experience providing counseling services within domestic violence and sexual assault services programs.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention and problem-solving experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work and services environment; experience working with diverse communities preferred.
  • Fluency in English and another language required.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the WEAVE mission and values.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in database management and all Microsoft Office products.
  • Satisfactory results of civil and criminal background checks.
  • Successful completion WEAVE’s 69-hour peer counselor training program (post-hiring requirement).
  • Annual completion of WEAVE’s continuing education requirements to maintain Peer Counselor certification.
  • Valid California Driver’s license and reliable transportation, including vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally responsive and inclusive individual and group counseling for children, youth and adults who have experienced or been exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Deliver services at WEAVE sites and other locations in the community as needed.
  • Connect clients to appropriate other supportive services and resources, both within WEAVE and elsewhere in the community.
  • When appropriate, advocate for the concerns of clients with their support systems, schools, the legal system, social service agencies and other helping professionals.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision as required to maintain Associate Therapist credentialing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and community partners to coordinate activities and referrals for services as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with supervisors to ensure successful completion of project goals and to enhance skills, knowledge, and awareness of domestic violence issues and case management best practices.
  • Promote a culture of respect for all within WEAVE and the community.
  • Consistent with agency and program requirements, maintain accurate, timely and confidential records of services provided.
  • Adhere to all agency and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
