We provide vital support during life's most challenging moments, helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. We're Hiring! We are seeking an Advocate - Bilingual to join our team. This full-time position is responsible for providing direct services to victims including crisis counseling, advocacy, and support by delivering service that is trauma-informed, culturally competent, strength-based, and client directed. This position works Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, with on-call rotation after hours.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience working with sexual assault survivors or similar experience.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle.
  • Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements
  • Written and oral fluency in the Hmong or Spanish language, and English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Hmong and/or Hispanic culture.
  • Strong interest in working with sexual assault victims.
  • Clarity of expression in presenting both written and verbal material.
  • Commitment to the ethical treatment of clients.
  • Capacity to widen and deepen experience and considerable ability to observe critical differences and refine skills in practice.
  • Sexual Assault Center Advocates are required to maintain 30-minute response time to downtown Green Bay for on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Answer crisis lines and respond to crisis situations as well as provide information and referral services.
  • Provide advocacy and supportive counseling to victims and their families, both on the crisis line and face-to-face as requested by the client.
  • Perform daily review of cases involving clients and appropriate follow-up.
  • Complete necessary documentation.
  • Provide intake and assessment services and make referrals as necessary for individuals both on the phone and in person.
  • Make appropriate use of community resources, including referral, advocacy and conferences with collateral agencies and professionals.
  • Participate in community collaborative meetings, including the Sexual Assault CCR team.
  • Facilitate Sexual Assault Survivor support groups.
