About The Position

Motivate is seeking part-time Station Valet Attendants to provide customer service to our riders at key, busy bikeshare stations during our busy riding season and for special events. Starting schedules are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am – 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Please note that work schedules are subject to change based on business need and may also differ to provide coverage for special events. About the Role Assist riders to check-out a bike to begin a trip, find an available dock to end their trip, and provide personal greeting and answer any questions for our riders to enjoy their bikeshare experience  Dock / undock stations with bikes; manage inventory and provide counts to operations  Inspect station, docks and individual bikes for safety, operability, and cleanliness; troubleshoot problems as needed  Ensure station equipment, dock, kiosk, and bike presentation standards are maintained, ensuring all are clean, clear, and easily accessible to riders and fellow employees  Maintain knowledge of the bikeshare system and city geography to provide excellent customer service to current and potential riders  Follow safe work practices to create and maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

  • You enjoy providing the best customer service possible, communicate in a friendly and helpful manner, and remain calm to solve problems for customers in a variety of circumstances
  • You are comfortable with a varying work pace; and can effectively juggle completing tasks and assisting riders efficiently and in a timely manner
  • You enjoy working outdoors in different seasons and weather conditions
  • You know or are willing to learn how to use a bikeshare system and can comfortably navigate around the city, providing directions when needed
  • You are able to use a GPS-enabled smartphone
  • You can lift/push/pull to 75 pounds and stoop, bend, walk or stand for extended periods
