About The Position

The Big Ticket Order Picker Operator at Macy's is responsible for the efficient and accurate picking and put away of furniture and bedding merchandise in a warehouse environment. Utilizing radio frequency (RF) equipment and powered equipment, the operator will handle stock movement, ensuring timely delivery of products. This role requires attention to detail, good time management, and adherence to safety protocols while working in a dynamic and sometimes noisy environment.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or GED
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals
• Resourceful self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Responsibilities

• Efficiently handle all tasks related to material handling and stock movement (Pick, Move, Stage & Put Away)
• Systemically and physically Pick and Put Away Furniture and Bedding using RF technology and powered equipment.
• Move product correctly with the use of an RF gun, dealing with bin locations and SKUs.
• Safely operate an Order Picker while wearing Fall Protection and pass all required training.
• Report all equipment failures, damages, and truck accidents as they occur.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or unsafe work conditions to supervisor.
• Perform general warehouse clean-up during shift operation and at the end of the shift.
• Repetitively maneuver and handle Furniture and Bedding up to 250 lbs.
• Stage picked Furniture and Bedding in proper locations for loading.
• Accurately read and apply pick labels to Furniture and Bedding stock for outbound orders.
• Examine Furniture and Bedding for quality and label errors, reporting any damage or RF problems to supervisor.
• Arrive to work, scheduled meetings, and other job-related functions on time.
• Meet established goals and objectives.
• Communicate suggestions for improvements and efficiencies to supervisor.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
