About The Position

The Principal Engineer role within the Finance Technology team at Wells Fargo focuses on designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions that address complex challenges across the enterprise. Requirements

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 7+ years of technology delivery and relationship management experience in a corporate environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Big Data solutions and ETL in big data tech stack such as Apache Spark.
  • 5+ years of experience with secure SDLC methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience innovating new technology strategies and implementing strategic vision.
  • 4+ years of full stack development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud migration and deployment.
  • 2+ years of experience evaluating and advising product teams on technology trends.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience with corporate treasury applications, including liquidity and balance sheet management.
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg.
  • Knowledge of data management and infrastructure production engineering leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and engineering cloud native solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment across various time zones.
  • 5+ years of experience navigating and operating across multiple levels of the organization.
  • 3+ years of experience with Databricks.
  • 3+ years of experience with Dremio or other data lake solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders and influencing decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of complex challenges requiring evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for automation of Embedded IT controls and reporting.
  • Act as an expert resource for architects and development teams in developing target architectures.
  • Recommend innovations to enhance operations and provide competitive advantages.
  • Perform hands-on coding responsibilities including design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Design detailed solutions including technology selection, interface design, data model creation, and documentation best practices.
  • Collaborate with developers to explain designs and assist in implementation as needed.
  • Engage strategically with professionals and managers across the enterprise, serving as an expert advisor to leadership.
