About The Position

This position will ensure direct material cost build-up prepared in response to a customer solicitation is executable and in line with internal / external customer expectation and oversee buying for all engineering projects and strategic initiatives to ensure purchase orders are placed within requirements, and deliveries meet the demand plan, quality, and cost targets. This position is located in Davenport, IA. In this role you will: Accountable for quality, delivery, and cost of supplied goods and services to Engineering development programs and strategic initiatives Manages and assists with buyer analysis, development and placement of purchase orders Leads daily/weekly meetings with buyers and supporting the internal customer by managing complex supply issues Conducts cadenced reviews of buyers' KPIs to analyze and react to MRP action and exception messages Operates within guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance to FAR and DFARS requirements, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment and elimination Ensures proper staffing, development and training of buyers Produces summary content and report out to senior leadership in cadenced site leadership review meetings Supports ongoing establishment and continuous improvement of site purchasing processes Supports integration of key corporate supply chain processes Helps direct reports grow and succeed by providing ongoing coaching and guidance, holding them accountable for their performance and behavior, and promoting diversity and inclusion (for example, by engaging in 1:1s, encouraging participation in resource groups, holding continuous performance discussions and providing powerful feedback on an ongoing basis.) Ensure effective and open communications amongst cross-functional peers and stakeholders. Works directly with Strategic Procurement Supply Chain Program Manager to support all purchasing-related Program needs including ensuring accurate data is being sent to buyers for correct PO placement requirements (i.e. contractual items, approved sources) Understand contractual flow downs, quality, qualification, technical specifications, and current terms and conditions for improvement opportunities. Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

  • Experience in negotiating long term complex supplier agreements

  • ASCM or ISM affiliation with certification in Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
