The Bid Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing quotes and sealed bids for the purchase of facility supplies and equipment for the Government/Public Sector. This role involves qualifying all pricing submissions, bids, contracts, and customer reviews, as well as ensuring that legal and business terms and conditions are approved by the relevant Veritiv management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling complex orders under tight deadlines.
  • SAP Experience.
  • 1-3 years of related job experience.
  • High School Diploma.
  • College Degree Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze all specifications, terms, conditions, and general provisions of contracts.
  • Review and address payment terms, contract length, renewal options, and delivery requirements.
  • Assess price escalation clauses and determine delivery methods (warehouse or direct).
  • Perform proactive bid work with GovSpend for target states and/or accessing bid results for competitive consideration.
  • Perform reviews to assess terms, conditions, and business risks, and submit to Legal for approval if needed.
  • Maintain all certificates, legal documents, and licenses, and submit forms for Bid/Performance Bonds if required.
  • Execute all bid documents, including signatures, notary, and corporate seal.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of Public Sector sales and support personnel.
