The Bid Room specialist will serve as a liaison between pro sales associates, merchants, and suppliers in order to process complex bids involving pricing, sourcing, and logistics. The specialist must be able to work objectively, accurately and efficiently. This role will require weekend coverage - Wednesday - Sunday (40 hour work week)

Requirements

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Excellent organizational skills
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the building materials industry
Prior customer service experience
Prior experience in inside/outside sales
Work experience and/or knowledge of the commodity market
Experience manipulating data in Excel

Responsibilities

Providing excellent customer service, processing manual bids, managing relationships with internal and external customers to maintain open communication and overall Bid Process support.
Communicating with suppliers, merchants, and pro sales associates.
May serve as a key decision contributor on various key projects within a business function.
Developing, researching and identifying new opportunities to increase bid sales, process complex bids and optimize bid value.
