Bid Team Coordinator If you are organized, have good analytical skills, and understand profitability, then this could be the job for you! We have a strategic focus on providing food to schools which are highly regulated and have limited budgets. It is essential in the annual bid process to provide the options schools need that meet their budgets and is profitable for the company. Bid experience or experience with school lunch requirements is helpful, but we can train the right candidate! Location: Kearney, NE Summary: Responsible for identifying and gathering the necessary information to generate bids. Assign tasks & responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met & bids are completed. This includes working with the Bid Team, CWD Procurement, Category Management, & Contract Compliance departments as well as Brokers & Vendors. Involves negotiating pricing, analyzing numbers, reviewing contracts, and creating revenue expectations. Duties and Responsibilities Bid Generation Work with Bid Team Members & School Specialist to review RFPs and gather customer information needed to start the process. This will include but not be limited to: Deadlines, nutrition expectation, product identification, forecasting, etc. Use this information to develop timelines for the department to ensure the project is completed. Delegate tasks & responsibilities to Team Members for each step within the bid process to ensure projects are on schedule, evaluating & reassigning tasks as needed to ensure deadlines are met. Negotiate pricing from vendors. Review and understand vendor contracts as well as work with Contract Compliance regarding pricing guidelines and restrictions, product limitations, etc. Provide Contract Compliance with necessary information to properly set up contracts. Provide award information to CWD Procurement & Vendors for forecasting purposes. Understand and account for the impact of freight on availability and costs for the product as well as the company's cost to deliver. Be able to differentiate between different freight categories such as FOB, delivered, etc. Willing to learn Purchasing Programs including GPOs. Pull together the information to create Excel spreadsheets and present to Department VP the expected customer costs as well as company revenue. Assist in developing proposals. Busiest time of the year is from March - September Contract Evaluation Review competitive information during off-season and identify opportunities for the following year. When not working on new bids, will focus on evaluating current contracts: Review for profitability Review for adherence to the bid Collaborate with School Specialist & Department VP to identify target schools & reach out to get on their RFP Distribution Lists. Other Projects as assigned.
