About The Position

At Mission Point Resort—Mackinac Island’s only full-service, casually elegant resort—our bicycle fleet is an essential part of the guest experience. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bicycle Mechanic to maintain, repair, and tune our resort bicycles, ensuring guests enjoy safe, smooth, and memorable rides across the island. About the Role The Bicycle Mechanic is responsible for the daily repair, adjustment, and preventive maintenance of the resort’s bicycle fleet. This includes diagnosing mechanical issues, performing tune-ups, replacing parts, maintaining a clean and organized workshop, and ensuring all bikes meet safety and performance standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, solving problems, and interacting with guests in a friendly, helpful manner.

Requirements

• Prior bicycle repair or mechanical experience required; professional bike shop experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, tuning, and repairing standard bicycles; familiarity with tools, parts, and safety practices
• Reliable, efficient, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Friendly, patient, and communicative when assisting guests with rentals, adjustments, or questions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate repair records and inventory
• Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season
