Sale Creek Middle/High School is a 6-12 school located in Sale Creek, TN, just north of the Chattanooga area in a rural community. We are a small community school that is supported by local businesses, families, and both former and current students. We offer a variety of programs which includes a wide variety of sports, band, Army ROTC, and many college-level classes in all content areas. At SCMHS, we offer a Future Ready Institute that has two pathways, (Engineering Design and Construction). Our students have the opportunity to leave with both OSHA-10 and NCCER Certification. Requirements

  • Committed to high academic achievement and high expectations for all students.
  • Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families.
  • Open to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students.
  • Professional with high personal standards and integrity.
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 12 college/university credit hours in biblical studies (excluding coursework in biblical languages, doctrine, theology, worldview, and ethics).
  • Tennessee Teaching Certification: For middle school candidates, a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification with an endorsement in a middle grades academic content area, Bible, English (6-12), or history (6-12) is required.
  • For high school candidates, a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification with an endorsement in Bible, English, or history is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to pursue certification as a job-embedded licensure candidate.
  • If holding a teaching license in another state, willingness to apply for a Tennessee teaching license.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the Tennessee state standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson.
  • Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement instructional best practices.
  • Follow Hamilton County Schools' instructional framework, including: Ensuring Equity in Actions, Setting High Expectations, Building a Productive Classroom Culture, Responsive Teaching and Learning.
  • Build a safe and productive classroom culture with positive relationships, clear procedures, and a secure environment for learning.
  • Consistently develop strong relationships with students' families and inform parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children.
  • Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning.
  • Actively participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) with colleagues to improve teaching and student learning.
  • Reflect on instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.
