Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Health and Safety; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in an EHS position.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable under Sabre's vehicle policy.
  • Experience in managing compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles.
  • Proficient math skills and detail-oriented.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to EHS.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate worker's compensation cases, loss control, EPA & environmental program management.
  • Perform routine hazard recognition, evaluation, and control of safety and health hazards in the workplace.
  • Manage safety programs such as Life Safety Code, Forklift Operations, Hoist & Crane Operations, and others.
  • Review safety issues and incidents, developing plans for resolution with plant leadership.
  • Schedule and conduct site EHS compliance inspections and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Conduct production, shop, and maintenance floor audits, submitting maintenance requests as required.
  • Promote safety awareness and perform hazard awareness training.
  • Support and participate in Monthly Safety Meetings and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Gather information and statistics for EHS metrics presentation.
  • Develop and implement Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and training programs.
  • Conduct hazardous and non-hazardous waste identification and management.
  • Attend monthly and quarterly worker's compensation claims review and loss control meetings.
  • Conduct new hire and third-party contractor EHS training weekly.
  • Maintain safety files and keep the SDS spreadsheet up to date.
  • Perform Risk Assessments with all departments for new processes and projects.
  • Participate in emergency response functions and develop emergency evacuation plans.
  • Assist in program development and perform other duties as assigned.
