We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to drive the development and optimization of our data transformation and modeling processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that raw data is transformed into trusted, well-structured, and analytics-ready datasets that empower decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in BI engineering, analytics engineering, and data modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with dbt Core for data transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.
  • Experience using Python for data transformation, automation, and performance tuning.
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, ELT/ETL principles, and data warehousing best practices.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows for data projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Argo and Kafka is a plus.
  • Experience working with BI tools such as Sigma, Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain dbt Core models to transform and structure raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data models, ensuring they align with business reporting needs and best practices.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to define and enhance ELT pipelines, ensuring efficient data ingestion and transformation.
  • Use Python to automate data transformations, build quality checks, and optimize Snowflake performance.
  • Monitor and improve query performance and cost efficiency within Snowflake.
  • Implement data quality checks, testing frameworks, and documentation to ensure trust in reporting and analytics.
  • Work closely with analysts and business teams to understand data needs and optimize models for self-service analytics.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management and lineage tracking.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, collaborate within a team, and engage cross-functionally.
