About The Position

The WCF Insurance has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join the Information Technology (IT) department team as a BI Developer. This is a full-time, exempt position that works in our Sandy, Utah Headquarters office and reports to the Manager of Business Intelligence. This position focuses on designing and maintaining scalable BI solutions to support company-wide decision making in an office environment. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and approximately 2–5 years of experience in data-related roles, or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience. Proficient in SQL and business intelligence tools, with strong experience building clear, effective data visualizations; Power BI experience is a plus. Experience in DAX or advanced Excel formulas, including performance tuning, reusable calculations, and complex business logic. Proven experience working with centralized, governed data models and shared calculations/measures across BI platforms to support scalable, consistent reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable BI solutions, including centralized, governed data models and reusable calculations/measures, across Power BI platform.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, managing expectations, timelines, and deliverables across multiple business units.
  • Write efficient DAX, SQL, and other platform relevant expressions to optimize query and report performance across enterprise datasets.
  • Support data governance by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a single source of truth across reporting assets and data domains.
  • Work with data pipelines and contribute to data preparation tasks, using SQL, Python, and other supported tooling to enable clean and reliable datasets.
  • Leverage Git, CI/CD, and cloud platforms to support version control, deployment workflows, and scalable BI solution delivery.
  • Contribute to BI best practices, and standards.
  • Demonstrate ownership of BI solutions from design through deployment and support.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality, performance, and usability.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and communication skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Stay current with Power BI advancements, AI features, and enterprise BI trends.
  • Collaborate effectively with data engineers, analysts, and business users.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of BI architecture, semantic modeling, and deployment processes.
