Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse. Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students. Assist in the supervision of students (such as in school libraries, hall and cafeteria, monitoring, and bus loading and unloading). Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or other administrators. Coaching Responsibilities Oversee the entire Cheer Program. Develop and train student-athletes to cheer and uplift the crowd. Develop and execute an effective cheer program. Monitor, motivate, supervise, and mentor student-athletes on and off the Court/Field. Instruct/guide student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success. Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishments, acceptable social behavior, and self-confidence. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills development. Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes. Cooperate, in a timely manner, with the School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or periodically required. Meet all requirements set forth by the Benton Board of Education, the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA), and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) relative to the mandated coaching requirements. Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes. Follow the District Athletic Department Policies and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description. Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes, including timeliness to practices and games, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program. Maintain a suitable sideline conduct, including the use of appropriate language, at all times. Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance. Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, DESE, and AAA. Schedule practices on the first day permitted by AAA. Provide all applicable in-season training rules and any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to student-athletes before the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur. Participate in Cheer Clinics and other available programs. Participate in School events (i.e., Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc.). Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
