About The Position

The Night Shift Unit Coordinator at Bell Hospital provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments, management of throughput, staffing to matrix, and responding to patient and staff needs. This role involves managing a patient care assignment as indicated by patient care needs, assisting with hiring, education, and performance evaluation of the staff. The coordinator works closely with the Nurse Manager and Human Resources in performance management counseling and discipline of staff. Additionally, the coordinator instructs staff and ensures compliance with standards through daily ongoing monitoring and performance management. Serving as a role model and mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction is a key aspect of this position. The coordinator takes personal responsibility for achieving productivity targets and budget compliance and has primary involvement and responsibility for unit performance improvement activities and outcomes. Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor Degree Nursing
  • For ADN prepared nurses hired after August 1, 2024, must be enrolled in a BSN degree program within 6 months of hire date, must complete BSN degree by the third anniversary of hire date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse in State of Kansas
  • Must secure a Nurse Compact License (NCL) within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree Nursing
  • 2 or more years of clinical experience
  • Professional Nursing Certification
