BGS Central Heat Plant Operator
About The Position
Buildings and General Services at the State of Vermont is seeking a Heat Plant Operator with the Operations & Maintenance team. This position is eligible for a sign on and retention bonus of $1000! This position serves the Capital District in Montpelier, which includes the State House and many historic buildings. The heat plant consists of two bio-mass steam boilers, an oil-fired steam boiler, and related equipment. The Operator will be tasked with running and maintaining all systems inside of the capitol heat plant. This position may also be asked to assist with other duties as assigned including but not limited to; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and lock repair. During the heating season (October to May), this position will work Sunday - Thursday (11pm - 7am), and third shift hours will receive a $2.50 pay differential. During the summer (June to October), this position will work Monday - Friday (7am - 3:30pm). This position requires successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
- Running and maintaining all systems inside of the capitol heat plant
- Assist with other duties as assigned including but not limited to; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and lock repair.
