About The Position

The BG Purchasing Costing Leader supports the FCE BG business goals with accurate and credible cost estimates for products and investments to achieve profitable customer quotations. Supports and leads with overall knowledge regarding tooling- & piece-cost estimates (mechanical and electronics), logistics & assembling estimates, cost tracking of new programs and questions concerning economic standards. The main missions of the role are: Implement Forvia's cost estimation systems and practices in accordance with Forvia FCPs within FCE. Developing and ensuring proper documentations. Keep track of new industry developments and employ new technologies. Ensuring that the cost estimates are finished and correct on due date. Define and pursue the internal procedures. Provide input into customer quotations (BP): Develop cost models for purchased components (electronics/mechanical); develop cost models for internal assembly processes; understanding of tariff and duties when evaluating costs. Implement cost model programs by evaluating other BGs best practices. All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, or a related field or more than 5 years of experience as a senior estimator in the automotive industry.
  • +5 years of experience as a Senior Estimator in the automotive industry (electronics automotive preferred).
  • Proven experience in cost analysis, cost modeling, and cost breakdowns (direct materials, indirect costs, logistics, etc.).
  • Experience leading supplier negotiations and achieving cost savings through strategic sourcing.
  • Experience with should-cost analysis tools, cost estimation software, and/or ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience preparing and presenting costing reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement within automotive, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong expertise with RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes, supplier quoting, and benchmarking.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers (tooling, labor, raw materials, logistics, overhead, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, compliance, and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and operations to validate supplier costs.
  • Skilled in managing uncertainty and maintaining objectivity under stakeholder pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and cost-modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and autonomy.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and arbitration capabilities.
  • Ability to manage complexity, collaborate with others, and drive results.
