This role is temporary (part-time), 40 hours per week. Job Summary The Mass General Brigham Health Equity Intern Program offers young adults the opportunity to gain valuable experience working to improve health equity across various domains. The Intern will provide project and analytic support to the Mass General Brigham Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO) Health Equity team, with a primary focus on the MassHealth Hospital Quality and Equity Incentive Program (HQEIP) initiatives–a first-in-the-nation Medicaid program to improve health equity. This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting health equity-focused performance improvement projects in substance use disorder, data analysis, reporting, and narrative development for required MassHealth deliverables. The intern will work closely with a Health Equity Program Manager and collaborate with multiple members of the team. Through this role, the intern will participate in health equity improvement strategies, gain exposure to quality measurement, perform data acquisition and review, research academic literature, and develop formal reports for submission. Internships are typically full-time for 8-10 weeks between May – August. This internship is meant for individuals interested in a career in healthcare, health equity, or public health. Representative examples of projects for Summer 2026 include: 1. Support development of Health Equity Performance Improvement Project (PIP) deliverables, with a focus on learning and contributing to the final reporting to MassHealth. 2. Data review and validation for MassHealth Hospital Quality and Equity Incentive Program Supplemental File Submissions. 3. Collaborating with Health Equity Team and Disability Council to review and update Disability Competent Care (DCC) content on internal webpages and related training materials. 4. Conducting Health Equity literature reviews or other strategic scans, as needed, across a variety of potential areas to inform learning about effective interventions to reduce disparities in clinical outcomes in key metrics as part of MGB Quality Management dashboards, Vizient index, or other emerging areas.
