About The Position

Responsibilities include providing friendly, efficient service to internal and external guests, and overseeing the day-to-day operations during a daily shift of the beverage operation. The Beverage Shift Manager must make decisions for the department that directly relate to beverage revenue, guest service and Team Member relations. The position is to provide guidance, counseling, and support to subordinate Team Members and their direct reports, as well as promotes compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to make quick judgement decisions. Must demonstrate sound judgement and maturity in decision-making abilities, even when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Minimum three (3) years of previous experience as a food and beverage manager within a high volume environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills enhancing the ability to understand the activity of the department.
  • Excellent attention to detail in products, services and the appearance of all operating beverage outlets.
  • Extensive knowledge managing a team, budgeting, training, and scheduling.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Efficient using computers, including but not limited to: Word, Excel.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license by the Graton Gaming Commission.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous beverage operations management experience in a casino environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale systems and Info genesis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Monitors and coordinates the activities of beverage department Team Members, responding to and following up on guest requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures as directed by management, suggesting and initiating necessary changes and improvements.
  • Promotes responsible alcohol service in accordance with alcohol awareness training and local and federal laws.
  • Ensure Beverage Team Members are exceeding Graton Guest Service Standards.
  • Supervise, plan and schedule beverage activities for the shift as directed by management.
  • Actively circulate through all bar areas to ensure Team Members are providing cordial and timely beverage service to Guests and adhering to all department protocols.
  • Ensures the all beverage equipment and systems are operating effectively and efficiently, working with property IT, engineering as well as approved outside vendors to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations, and encourage others to do so. Comply with Board of Health Standards and ensure cleanliness of all Beverage areas. Ensure Team Member safety, and display knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for regular communications including counseling team, troubleshooting system issues, relaying inter-department concerns. Required to routinely meet with guests, Team Members, management and other departments to relay important information, identify issues of concern and work towards solutions.
  • Interview, hire, and train Team Members utilizing the Job Coach Program and effectively auditing to ensure training standards are satisfied.
  • Maintain quality control of products and services, ensuring excellent and consistent quality of service and presentation.
  • Evaluate and oversee job performance of all Beverage Team Members. Hold individual subordinates accountable for performance of job duties, tasks, policies and procedures.
