About The Position

The Beverage Program Supervisor is a hands-on, hourly leadership role responsible for leading beverage training and upholding beverage standards across all cafe locations. This role serves as the company-wide point person for barista onboarding, skill development, and quality control, ensuring every drink reflects the brand’s standards for consistency, execution, and hospitality. In addition to training, the Beverage Program Supervisor plays a key role in developing and maintaining an exceptional, house-made beverage program spanning specialty coffee, tea, matcha, seasonal beverages. This role blends deep beverage expertise with coaching, documentation, and operational excellence, supporting teams across locations, reinforcing standards, and troubleshooting execution and equipment issues to ensure consistency company-wide.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of specialty coffee and tea experience, including hands-on barista work in high-quality café environments
  • Proven track record of upholding and enforcing brand standards across beverages, service, and presentation
  • Advanced knowledge of espresso, brew methods, dialing in, and beverage quality control
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing baristas and beverage teams
  • Working knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and bar equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Strong palate, attention to detail, and clear communication skills
  • Has the ability to travel between café locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with developing alcohol programs (beer, wine, spirits) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Refine, execute, and evolve a cohesive beverage program including specialty coffee, tea, matcha, seasonal drinks, house-made components, and an expanding alcohol program
  • Works with our Bakehouse Team to create scalable recipes, specs, and preparation standards that uphold quality, consistency, and cost targets across all locations
  • Set and maintain standards for coffee extraction, brewing methods, tea and matcha preparation, and beverage presentation
  • Conduct regular quality checks and troubleshoot recipe execution, equipment maintenance/issues, and workflow issues
  • Collaborate with leadership to curate local beer, wine, and spirits that align with the brand and community
  • Serve as the company-wide lead beverage trainer, leading onboarding and hands-on training for new hires across all beverage programs
  • Design and facilitate ongoing barista education, skill-building sessions, and professional development to elevate technique and confidence
  • Create and maintain training materials, recipes/specs, and beverage documentation to ensure consistent execution across locations
  • Coach and mentor baristas on hospitality at the bar, flavor understanding, beverage knowledge, and presentation standards
  • Partner with store leadership to reinforce brand standards, identify performance gaps, and provide feedback and retraining as needed
  • Work with leadership to ensure proper handling, storage, service standards, and compliance for all beverage programs, including alcohol
