About The Position

The Beverage Manager will develop a comprehensive beverage program that focuses on the types of drinks offered, brands of liquor used, recipe development, costing, pricing, photos, vendor support, and menu placement. The scope includes non-alcoholic beverages, wine, beer, and cocktail items. The manager will also be responsible for ordering all hotel beverage and bar-related supplies, maintaining sufficient inventory, and forecasting sales and sales mix to adjust offerings based on demand and budget.

Requirements

  • Four years of relevant food & beverage experience and/or training.
  • TIPS certified trainer certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Serve safe certification.
  • College degree or 5+ years of extensive experience in the alcoholic beverage industry.
  • Certified Cicerone level or level 2 or higher Master Court of Sommelier.
  • Flexibility to work nights and/or weekends.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to write internal correspondence and communicate strategic goals.
  • Ability to interpret and perform computer and POS system functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Symphony, Open Table, Outlook, Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shift open and close duties in accordance with Restaurant Manager’s checklist.
  • Execute revenue and check control procedures on shift in accordance with SOP’s for managing POS.
  • Utilize tools for running shifts, including schedules, Open Table, Chow Now, and floor plans.
  • Lead floor shifts and conduct daily staff pre-shift meetings.
  • Ensure all F&B outlets maintain a neat and clean appearance.
  • Resolve staffing concerns and daily challenges.
  • Adhere to company HR protocols for employee discipline or compliance concerns.
  • Support restaurant manager in interviewing, training, and delivering ongoing training.
  • Monitor floor activity and assist with seating, serving, and kitchen communication.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction and loyalty metrics.
  • Initiate guest interaction through social media outreach and table touches.
  • Develop and execute beverage-related promotions.
  • Support Sales Team with beverage recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain par sheets and update monthly inventory values.
  • Execute beverage ordering to meet or exceed budgeted figures.
  • Ensure accurate delivery and stocking of beverage orders.
  • Process invoices following hotel accounting procedures.
  • Review cost fluctuations and highlight opportunities within beverage sales.
  • Implement marketing and up-selling techniques.
  • Train bartenders and servers on beverage knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Solicit feedback from guests and implement service recovery tools.
  • Promote beverage programs through outside promotion.
