About The Position

The Beverage Director is responsible for the vision, leadership, and execution of a world-class beverage program that reflects the spirit of Montana luxury while meeting the highest standards of service and craftsmanship. This role oversees the continued evolution and support of beverage strategy, standards, and programming across Paws Up. The Beverage Director brings creativity, business acumen, and refined service expertise to curate exceptional guest experiences through innovative cocktails, elevated wine and spirits offerings, and immersive beverage-driven moments. The ideal candidate is a confident leader, educator, and passionate about team development, guest engagement, and operational excellence in a luxury resort environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive beverage or bar leadership experience in a luxury resort, fine dining, or high-end hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and lead effectively in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Valid Food Handler’s License
  • TIPS Certification
  • Valid State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and mentor beverage leadership and bar team members
  • Establish and uphold service standards that reflect Paws Up and Forbes-level expectations
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality excellence
  • Lead by example during service, modeling anticipatory and personalized guest engagement
  • Support succession planning and ongoing team development through education and feedback
  • Design, implement, and oversee an innovative, seasonally driven cocktail and beverage program that highlights regional influences, premium spirits, and local ingredients
  • Curate and manage wine, beer, and spirits selections that complement Paws Up’s identity
  • Lead the development of seasonal menus, specialty activations, and experiential programming (whiskey tastings, spirit dinners, mixology classes, private events)
  • Stay current on industry trends and incorporate best practices into programming and training
  • Engage guests with confidence and authenticity, educating and guiding beverage selections
  • Ensure a refined, personalized experience, including greeting guests by surname when appropriate
  • Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menus, preparation methods, allergens, and alternative options
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, collaborating with Food & Beverage leadership as needed
  • Maintain awareness of Paws Up amenities, activities, and offerings to enhance the overall guest journey
  • Oversee beverage inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and cost controls to meet financial objectives without compromising quality
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and beverage cost performance
  • Ensure all beverage operations comply with Montana state liquor laws, health regulations, and Paws Up policies
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and presentation
  • Collaborate with culinary and operations leadership to ensure seamless service execution
  • Represent Paws Up with integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all guest and employee interactions
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance aligned with brand standards
  • Perform all duties safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail and quality
