About The Position

The Best Buddies Special Education Advisor at Hudson Public Schools is responsible for providing an after school Best Buddies experience 2 to 3 times a month in coordination with a special education teacher. This role aims to increase friendship opportunities for students with disabilities by creating a supportive and engaging environment. The advisor will work closely with a general education advisory to establish the Best Buddies program at Hudson High School, which is funded by the district. The advisor will also communicate with the Best Buddies organization and guide students in the Best Buddies group regarding activities they can participate in within the high school.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a special education teacher to provide after school Best Buddies experiences.
• Work with a general education advisory to create a Best Buddies program at Hudson High School.
• Communicate with the Best Buddies organization regarding program activities.
• Advise students in the Best Buddies group about potential activities within the high school.
