The BESS Technician, Level II at Pearce Renewables is responsible for performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) tasks on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and commercial or utility solar equipment across various locations in the United States. This role requires 100% travel and is focused on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in renewable energy projects. The technician will engage in safety planning, interact with vendors and customers, and may supervise field work as needed.

  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and/or Commercial or Utility Solar equipment.
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person under properly performed LOTO conditions.
  • Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
  • Act as a team member to support site work, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • 2+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components.
  • 2+ years of Renewable energy experience (wind, solar, or battery).
  • 2+ years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) experience on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and/or Commercial or Utility Solar equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E are preferred.
