About The Position

The position involves identifying and implementing lean projects in production, working directly at the machine and with employees to align with business objectives. The role requires analyzing existing processes to identify waste and inefficiencies, and implementing sustainable optimization along the value chain. Responsibilities include moderating and supporting Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) workshops and 5S/6S initiatives in collaboration with production and management. The candidate will coach and train team leaders and skilled workers in lean leadership and shop floor management, develop standardized workflows and visual management to increase efficiency and transparency, and work closely with production management, quality assurance, and planning to embed the lean culture in day-to-day business. Additionally, the role involves implementing standard work practices to ensure consistency, safety, and efficiency, analyzing performance data to implement corrective actions, driving initiatives to reduce costs, improve productivity, and optimize resource utilization, and fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous learning. Collaboration with team members to move initiatives forward is essential.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or economics or comparable training.
  • Several years of experience (at least 5 years) in applying lean principles and experience in lean projects in the manufacturing industry, ideally in mold making or machining (Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or Lean Six Sigma desirable).
  • Deep understanding of production processes and the working reality of skilled workers (machining, assembly, toolmaking, etc.).
  • Strong moderation and coaching skills - convincing on the shop floor as well as in the meeting room.
  • Knowledge of lean tools such as 5S/6S, value stream analysis, SMED, Kaizen, PDCA, shop floor management.
  • Analytical thinking paired with pragmatic implementation skills - ability to see what works and make it happen.
  • Hands-on mentality and genuine interest in sustainable change - team player mentality.
