About The Position

This position provides support to the benefits team in the directing and planning of the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accident plan, Health Savings and 401(k) plan). This position ensures that benefits are offered timely and accurately to all eligible employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience/background
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Above average working experience with MS Excel
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Answers a large volume of telephone and email inquiries regarding benefit questions from employees and dependents as well as ensuring accurate coverage and prompt/accurate responses.
  • Serves as first level of escalation for the Benefits Assistants in employee inquiries.
  • Responsible for researching employee benefit issues both on an employee level as well as any group issues that arise.
  • Responsibility for the oversight of the receipt, processing, and input of Medical Support Orders.
  • Responsibility for the processes and communications with employee regarding benefit changes due to promotions, demotions, or other status changes
  • With the assistance of the Benefits Analysts, ensuring the prompt and accurate payment of all benefit invoices.
  • Oversees the preparation and mailing of new and re-hired employee benefit packages
  • Oversees the input of completed benefit enrollment forms in addition to reviewing and approving enrollment elections input by the enrollment center or in UKG.
  • Oversee the processing and mailing of all terminated employee benefits letters
  • Works with our COBRA vendor regarding COBRA documentation, enrollments, and benefit termination.
  • Assists with 401(k) plan input such as deferrals, loan, terminations, address changes, and indicative data.
  • Assists with the 401(k) Lost Participants on-going project.
  • Responsibility for working with union benefits personnel to ensure monthly gains/losses of union coverage and communicates with employees accordingly
  • Responsibility for dependent audit coverage and processes aged out dependents accordingly
  • Responsibility for weekly, monthly, and annual benefit audits in regard to execution, defining and correcting error patterns, and updating processes and procedures accordingly.
  • Assist with annual Open Enrollment Process from design to implementation
  • Responsibility for weekly reconciliation and transfer of Health Savings Account contributions to Fidelity.
  • Responsibly for reviewing and processing the HSA pending worksheet regarding Fidelity account openings and/or processing unclaimed funds back to payroll.
  • Assists with the weekly reconciliation and transfer of Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account funds to Fidelity.
  • Supervises HR Associates and other staff as assigned.
  • Oversees the document storage process for the Benefits Department and works with other areas of HR to ensure documentation retention process and practices are in place and adhered.
  • Works with the Payroll, Human Resources, IT, and Recruiting teams to assist employees with issues as well as to help streamline internal processes to benefit all teams.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.
