About The Position

The Benefits Analyst will perform data analysis work, involving moderate responsibility, complexity and variety to coordinate and formulate resources to address any and all requests for informational and technical data based on the benefit plans sponsored by Spectrum Brands; ensuring accurate and timely response to same. Requires analytical and technical skills to solve problems, critically evaluate data, identify trends and recommend program changes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of benefits experience
  • Broad-based knowledge of benefit programs and a successful track record of effective leave of absence administration.
  • Bilingual - Spanish is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure and on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Experience in collection, analysis, auditing, and reporting of data, including financial, enrollment and utilization data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Workday or Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide benefit administration support including but not limited to health, flexible spending accounts, retirement, life insurance, disability and wellness plans.
  • Lead leave of absence administration, conduct HR training and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, and company-specific leave programs such as Paid Parental Leave.
  • Work with outside benefit vendors, HR Business Partners, legal, to provide suggestions and guidance as it relates to administration, benefits policies, processes, and specific employee scenarios.
  • Develop, monitor, and redesign processes and procedures for accurate and timely benefit administration, in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state benefit laws including, but not limited to, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of benefit invoices, plan funding, file feeds and data exchanges.
  • Manage escalated benefit issues and provide guidance for new hires, mid-year life events, terminations, etc.
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the Benefits Department and companywide locations for all areas of the benefit delivery system.
  • Ensure enrollment and deduction information are captured in the HRIS system of record.
  • Work with the payroll and HRIS teams to develop auditing procedures and reports.
  • Evaluate and test scenarios and processes for upgrades and enhancements in HRIS and benefit administration systems; create scenario entry and testing and verification of results.
  • Support Open Enrollment process including reviewing communication material, presenting benefit education to employees, and ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • Support the development and coordination of various benefit communications.
