About The Position

The UPMC Corporate Benefits team is excited to recruit a temporary, Benefits Representative. This assignment is estimated to last 90 days with the possibility of extending longer depending on performance and department need. While in the temporary assignment, the Benefits Representative will work full-time, daylight hours, Monday through Friday. The position offers a weekly, hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and one year of human resources, customer care center or insurance industry experience preferred
  • OR High School Diploma and three years of human resources, customer care center or insurance industry experience preferred
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Act 34

Responsibilities

  • Respond timely and accurately to current and former employees via Employee Service Center on a wide range of benefit questions and concerns.
  • Utilize Human Resource Information System (PeopleSoft), HEAT call tracking system, Tuition database and vendor web-based systems as needed to verify information and generate reports related to benefit deductions, eligibility, enrollments, confirmations, event maintenance, plan statistics, verify enrollment, track benefit eligibility, etc.
  • Handle daily activities in the administration of the Tuition Assistance Benefit program. Maintain files, process applications, process reimbursement and advancement benefit payments timely and accurately, interact with schools and staff members on the tuition program. Process school invoices for tuition advancement and reconcile grades and taxes following each semester.
  • Review new hire paperwork, benefit applications and related documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the administration of benefit programs such as medical dental, (IRS Section 125), COBRA, FMLA, disability, life insurance, and other associated benefits as available for all benefit eligible employees, physicians and management.
  • Request appropriate forms for family and employment status changes, review for accuracy and completion within appropriate time limits and update PeopleSoft and document HEAT appropriately.
  • Other duties, as assigned, such as EOI process, assisting with COBRA administration, special mailings, death claims, etc.
