We currently have an opening for a Benefits Procurement Specialist in our Charlotte, NC office. PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION The Benefits Procurement Specialist serves our clients by providing product and service information. You will be the first point of contact for our clients when they need assistance resolving product and service concerns and service requests for new and renewal insurance accounts.

  • Conduct market analysis before the anniversary date of allclient’scoveragesfor both new and renewal business.
  • Ensure all contracts/policies areaccurateand current.
  • Build andmaintainpositivecarrierrelationships.
  • Market all lines ofgroupincluding medical, dental, and disability.
  • Prepare new business and renewal proposals.
  • Prepareaccuratespreadsheets and proposals for presentations.
  • Assistindeterminingstrategies for the marketing and placement of accounts.
  • Assist the accounting department in reconciling any commission shortages/overages by making internal accounting adjustments, contacting insurance carriers, etc. toderminethe source of the problem.
  • Document all activities in the Applied System as well asZywave’sBrokerage Builder agency management system, including phone conversations, letters, RFP’s, proposals, memos, and emails.
  • Attend seminars to stay abreast of industry changes andparticipatein continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Two to four yearcollege degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Two years of benefit administration experience isrequired.
  • Life and Health license or the ability to obtain within90 daysisrequired.
  • Proven ability tomaintainhighlevel of confidentiality andhandling ofsensitive information.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Ability to successfully implement project management strategy.
  • Extraordinary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, ability to handle multipletasksand effectively prioritize.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • CEBS designation and/or work towards the designation preferred.
