About The Position

The Benefits Principal at KBR is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefit programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This position involves managing daily operations, acting as a subject matter expert, and project managing implementations and ongoing activities within a dynamic environment. The role requires innovative thinking and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service to employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of benefits experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Solid knowledge of Health and Welfare and 401(k) plans.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, preferably in benefits.
  • Understanding of benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA).
  • Experience with vendor implementations and changes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn HRIS and related systems quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs including Health and Welfare, Leave of Absence, and Retirement and Savings/401k.
  • Manage daily operations in a fast-changing environment and act as a subject matter expert.
  • Project manage vendor implementations and ongoing activities related to benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Resolve complex employee claim and eligibility issues with HRIS, payroll, and vendors.
  • Participate in annual enrollment planning, testing, and employee meetings.
  • Collaborate with HR and communications teams to ensure clarity in benefit communications.
  • Analyze benefits program data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare regulatory documents including Form 5500's and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Supervise a team of benefit professionals, providing coaching and support.
