About The Position

The Benefits Principal at KBR is responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefit programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This hands-on leadership role involves managing daily operations, acting as a subject matter expert, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service. The position requires innovative thinking and operational execution to enhance employee satisfaction and program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of benefits experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/team lead role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, preferably in benefits.
  • Solid knowledge of Health and Welfare and 401(k) plans.
  • Understanding of benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Experience leading vendor implementations and changes.
  • Strong commitment to employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday and SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs including Health and Welfare, Leave of Absence, and Retirement and Savings/401k.
  • Manage vendor relationships for health & welfare and Retirement & Savings vendors, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Health & Safety, HRIS, and IT on benefits matters.
  • Implement new vendors/plans from end-to-end, including RFP participation and project management.
  • Resolve complex employee claim and eligibility issues with HRIS, payroll, and vendors.
  • Participate in annual enrollment planning, testing, and employee meetings.
  • Collaborate with HR/People team and communications teams to ensure clarity in benefit communications.
  • Analyze benefits program data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings, presenting findings to leadership.
  • Support billing, reporting, and special projects as needed.
  • Prepare regulatory documents including Form 5500's and Summary Plan Descriptions.
