This position will manage the Company's leave of absence and disability programs for North America. The role involves overseeing all leave policies and disability programs in accordance with Federal and State employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PDL, etc.). The individual will serve as a subject matter expert for HRBPs, the business, and employees regarding the Company's benefits and leave of absence programs. Responsibilities include managing vendors responsible for leave of absence and disability, leading the Job Fill Review Committee, managing complex leave/disability issues, and implementing changes pertaining to paid state leave programs. The position also requires collaboration with various business areas to drive results and monitor the effectiveness of existing practices.

  • Manage all leave policies and disability programs in accordance with Federal and State employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PDL, etc.)
  • Serve as subject matter expert for HRBPs, the business, and employees regarding the Company's benefits / LOA programs
  • Manage the vendors responsible for leave of absence and disability
  • Lead Job Fill Review Committee, reviewing status/claims requests for job fills and making recommendations
  • Manage LOA workstream for integrations in North America for newly acquired and legacy EssilorLuxottica companies
  • Manage complex and escalated leave/disability issues
  • Research, lead and implement changes pertaining to paid state leave programs
  • Manage the development or enhancement of benefits/LOA communications to employees and HRBPs
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with other areas of the business such as payroll, HRIS, employment counsel, compliance, etc.
  • Monitor effectiveness of existing practices and recommend changes consistent with leave trends and company objectives
  • Manage and administer state disability claims, LTD claims and terminations as needed
  • Manage the reconciliation and audit processes of leave and disability programs
  • Manage denied leaves and terminations as part of the LOA process
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance/Accounting or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of employee benefits experience with at least some time working in leaves of absences/disability
  • Strong knowledge of leave program regulations including FMLA and ADA
  • Vendor management experience
  • Intermediate skill in Excel
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to plan and set priorities
  • Ability to drive change and influence HRBPs and business leaders
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally

  • 5+ years of leave of absence experience
  • Previous experience working with SAP HCM and ADP Global View
  • Previous experience working for a multinational company
  • Strong vendor management experience including managing SLAs
