About The Position

The Benefits Manager will lead the strategy, administration, and continuous improvement of comprehensive employee benefits programs in a fast-growing, remote-first environment. You will design and manage U.S. health, retirement, wellness, and time-off programs while ensuring compliance and alignment with business goals. Partnering closely with Payroll, Finance, and cross-functional teams, you will drive vendor management, open enrollment, and benefits analytics to deliver exceptional employee experiences. Additionally, you will help expand benefits offerings to new international markets in collaboration with global partners. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, providing opportunities to shape scalable, competitive, and employee-focused programs that support organizational growth and retention. You will serve as a subject matter expert, advising leadership and influencing benefits-related decisions across the company.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience managing U.S. employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated experience launching or scaling international benefits programs, ideally with an EOR or global vendors
  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and audit requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRS regulations)
  • Proven ownership of open enrollment and ongoing benefits administration
  • Experience in strategic benefits planning, including plan design, renewals, and cost modeling
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Payroll, Finance, and Accounting
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and accountable, with strong project management capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex benefits concepts clearly
  • Experience working in high-growth or scaling organizations and driving initiatives independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evaluating or implementing self-funded health plans
  • Hands-on experience with Employer of Record (EOR) partners
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar professional certification
  • Experience partnering with Compensation teams on Total Rewards strategy
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership audiences

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and administration of U.S. benefits programs, including health, retirement, time off, and wellness initiatives
  • Serve as the benefits subject matter expert, guiding leadership decisions and resolving complex issues
  • Manage vendor and broker relationships, including plan design, renewals, performance oversight, and issue resolution
  • Lead end-to-end open enrollment processes, including planning, communication, system setup, and post-enrollment audits
  • Drive domestic benefits strategy, including evaluating plan funding models and long-term program enhancements
  • Design and implement international benefits programs in new markets, ensuring compliance and employee-centric offerings
  • Maintain benefits reporting and analytics to track utilization, measure program effectiveness, and guide future decisions
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate administration, compliance, and financial forecasting
  • Continuously assess and enhance benefits programs to align with business needs, market trends, and Total Rewards strategy
