About The Position

The Benefits Manager is a key member of the HR leadership team, responsible for ensuring that benefit and leave programs are compliant, innovative, and continuously improving. This role emphasizes exceeding employee expectations through a person-centered approach. The Benefits Manager oversees the administration of employee benefits plans, leave programs, and workers' compensation, ensuring offerings remain competitive, compliant with regulations, and effectively communicated to employees. This role works closely with HR leadership to develop and implement benefits strategies that support organizational objectives, enhance employee satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience, including benefits administration or employee benefit plan responsibilities.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • HR-related certification required (SHRM-CP or PHR).
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and navigate various software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High reading comprehension and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday.
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Background in healthcare and/or unionized work environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of employee benefit regulations and compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement innovative benefit strategies.
