About The Position

The Financial Analyst, Benefits Finance plays a critical role in the Benefits Finance department within Corporate Controllership, which is based out of Farmington, CT, working as a hybrid in-person/remote team. The Benefits Finance department oversees the financial accounting, reporting, funding, and forecasting aspects of the Company's benefits offerings, including active and post-retirement medical, dental, life insurance, disability, and pension benefit programs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel including formulas and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Working with a variety of third-party vendors and internal contacts to process the payment of, and accounting for, benefit claims, expenses, and other financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts of Company benefit costs.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Company's and the benefit plans' financial statement disclosures, annual filings, and submissions to the US government.
  • Assisting in the execution of the Company's financial control activities, which may include account and banking reconciliations.
  • Participating in audit support activities, which may include reviewing vendor SOC1 reports, preparing reconciliations of financial activity with third parties, and providing auditors with information required to test applicable controls and transactions.
  • Participating in ad hoc special projects, as needed, including variance analysis and process improvement initiatives.
