About The Position

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering employee benefit plans across all Health First entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves counseling employees on benefit eligibility, managing leaves of absence, and coordinating various benefit-related activities to enhance employee experience and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or CEBS certification or equivalent required.
• 3 to 5 years of benefits administration experience or relevant HR experience.
• Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws including COBRA, FMLA, ERISA.
• Minimum 5 years of computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and database maintenance.
• Strong customer relations and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with PeopleSoft and Ceridian systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer health, dental, life, and disability insurance plans.
• Counsel employees regarding benefit eligibility and coverage.
• Support annual and semiannual open enrollments and participate in benefit fairs.
• Coordinate and administer benefits for associates on paid and non-paid Leave of Absence.
• Process disability claims and ensure timely payments for associates on leave.
• Administer COBRA notifications and audit monthly reports for compliance.
• Generate billing statements and follow up with associates for timely payments.
• Coordinate associate events and educational programs related to benefits.
• Administer the Health First Retirement Savings Plan and ensure compliance with regulations.
