About The Position

The Benefits Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of ALDI's National Services and divisional offices. This position involves assisting employees with benefit enrollment, managing claims, and processing leaves of absence, while ensuring compliance with company policies and effective communication with various stakeholders. The role is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of the organization and contribute to a positive employee experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists employees with benefit enrollment, dependent eligibility, and life-event verification appeals.
  • Provides assistance with benefits claims and required notices upon employment termination.
  • Processes leaves of absence, including workers' compensation claims and FMLA administration.
  • Administers reasonable accommodations processes.
  • Collaborates with National Services contacts and third-party administrators for workers' compensation program management.
  • Maintains employee data files and ensures proper archiving and disposal per company guidelines.
  • Maintains an organized filing system for the department.
  • Identifies, investigates, and reports irregularities within designated responsibilities.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts, including attorneys and government agencies.
  • Conducts training and cross-training within the area of responsibility.
