About the position

WE Soda is seeking an experienced Benefits and Systems Manager to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for the administration of employee benefits and the coordination of people-related programs tied to those benefits at our Green River, Wyoming facility. The Manager will ensure accurate and compliant delivery of benefits and HR processes, while supporting a positive employee experience. This is a fully on-site position in an industrial setting, requiring close collaboration with plant staff, HR leadership, and the Global Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This role has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support WE Soda's employee benefits programs, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness plans.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Manage annual open enrollment activities, including coordination with vendors, benefit system updates, and employee communications.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across HRIS benefit systems.
  • Support workers' compensation processes in coordination with the Company's Safety and Risk teams.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including benefits enrollment, orientation, and exit reviews.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and processing of employee changes.
  • Support HR programs related to leave management (e.g., FMLA, STD, return-to-work), employee relations, and attendance.
  • Assist in planning and executing employee engagement and recognition initiatives across the facility.
  • Ensure all benefits and HR practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Collaborate with WE Soda's Global Compliance Team to align local HR practices with international regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain required documentation and support audits, filings, and government reporting (e.g., COBRA, ACA, ERISA, 1095-Cs).
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting HR and benefits and recommend policy updates as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least 8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or unionized setting.
  • Experience managing and optimizing retirement plans, particularly defined benefit pension plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits platforms; experience with Dayforce preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of a facility-based workforce.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site industrial environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS).
  • Experience supporting a unionized workforce.
  • Familiarity with global HR practices and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
