About The Position

The Benefits Analyst plays a key role in the day-to-day administration and ongoing strategic enhancement of the Bryan Health benefit program through analysis, reporting, legal compliance, and communication of Bryan Health benefit programs. This position specializes in the coordination and administration of all benefit programs, including consulting and advising employees on benefit inquiries and retirement options. Responsibilities include implementing and auditing departmental processes related to the administration of benefit and retirement plans, managing annual amendments, open enrollment, and maintaining the benefits database system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years related benefit experience required.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Knowledge of the methods and processes involved in operationalizing benefit programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health and welfare benefit plans and retirement plans.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service in all situations.
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to perform work-related research and compile statistical reports.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates core values.
  • Administers health benefit and retirement programs for Bryan Health and its entities.
  • Completes online benefit enrollment data entry for all newly eligible participants in health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life insurance, and voluntary group benefit plans.
  • Acts as functional lead for benefits administration within the HRIS system.
  • Coordinates with IT as needed for system enhancements and resolving operational problems.
  • Maintains all plan documents to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Provides customer service to all employees; researches and assists with complex issues.
  • Develops, implements and delivers effective employee communication plans and materials.
  • Maintains the employee portal through SharePoint to ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provides benefits orientation presentation to all new employees.
  • Conducts or participates in benefit surveys as appropriate.
  • Maintains relationships with benefit vendors ensuring timely communication and updates.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in benefit processes.
  • Maintains accurate employee benefit and retirement records.
  • Stays abreast of any benefit changes including contract changes and regulations.
  • Presents benefit information to departments or other interested parties.
  • Administers pension plan benefits for current and former employees.
  • Oversees ACA compliance and prepares necessary tax forms.
  • Responsible for annual 401k employer contribution and match true-up process.
  • Administers dependent eligibility audits for medical, dental and vision benefits.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars and workshops.
  • Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
