The Benefits Analyst is a vital member of the Total Rewards team at Bashas' Supermarkets, responsible for developing and administering the company's benefit strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of various benefit plans and applicable regulations, as well as strong analytical skills to address complex benefit matters. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with other Benefit Analysts, senior HR leaders, brokers, benefit service providers, and legal advisors to ensure compliance and effective management of health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, and leave of absence programs. In this position, the Benefits Analyst will conduct research and provide insights on technical plan issues, interpret plan amendments, and make independent decisions regarding routine and complex benefit matters. The role involves high-level administration and oversight of various benefit programs, monitoring compliance with applicable regulations, and analyzing trends in service utilization and administrative fees. The Benefits Analyst will also assist in the Request for Proposals (RFPs) process, evaluate responses, and provide recommendations for enhancements to existing programs that align with the company's business objectives. Additionally, the Benefits Analyst will prepare necessary reports for non-discrimination testing, quarterly tax updates, and yearly tax documents, ensuring compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other relevant laws. This position may also involve leading company-wide projects, such as Open Enrollment event planning, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for lower-level specialists. The Benefits Analyst will play a crucial role in the development of the yearly budget based on trends and projections, collaborating with Total Rewards and Finance partners to ensure the effective management of the company's benefits programs.
