About The Position

We are looking for a Benefits Analyst 1 who will support our Healthy Wallet programs and processes to help Nordstrom deliver a seamless, trusted benefits experience for all employees. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service by identifying gaps in team capabilities and taking proactive steps to address them. You’ll gather and analyze relevant data to understand emerging needs, align processes with the customer journey, and ensure consistent, high-quality support across benefit programs. Clear, concise communication and a focus on continuous improvement are essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in human resources, benefit administration, payroll, compensation, trust accounting or related field
  • Experience managing projects or programs of moderate to medium complexity
  • Effective collaboration skills, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and with external vendor partners
  • Effective time management and organization skills enabling ability to deliver on multiple competing priorities
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Effectively partners and collaborates with cross functional teams, including benefit plan owners, payroll, and HRIS.
  • Provides operational and administrative support for Nordstrom retirement plans, including ownership of vendor billing, contribution and loan repayment funding, reconciliation support and error correction, audits, participant fee allocations and other ongoing plan administration activities.
  • Supports compliance related projects by ensuring adherence to established repeatable regulatory and policy requirements through consistent execution of standardized processes and controls.
  • Ensures documents are current and accurately reflect plan rules
  • Supports surveys and benchmarking for the Nordstrom retirement plans as well as other periodic benefits surveys
  • Provides operational support for commuter benefits, including vendor coordination, billing reconciliation, eligibility support, and issue resolution to ensure a smooth employee experience.
  • Manages the Nordstrom Adoption Assistance Program including maintenance of policy and other program documentation, support of employee escalations and supports communications, as needed.
  • Supports the Nordstrom Employee Relief Fund and Nordstrom Disaster Relief Fund including program strategy and recommendations, policies and forms, benchmarking and metrics, as well as day-to-day application reviews and other operational activities.
  • Raises trends and complex escalations to appropriate plan/program owners
  • Provide administrative support, such as maintaining and filing benefits documents and escalations and back-up for other benefits functions and projects as needed
  • Reporting and tracking of various benefits programs, projects, and initiatives
